Nutritionist Put Her on the Right Track

Share

Like most older, first-time moms, I couldn’t get those last 10 pounds off. The weight didn’t melt off like it had for my sister when she had her first at 21. With every month my daughter grew older, I was reminded that at age 38, I was still carrying around baby fat.

My back hurt. My clothes didn’t fit. I tried store-bought diet pills and diet shakes. They didn’t work. Finally, when my daughter was 8 months old, I got serious and went to a licensed dietitian and nutritionist.

I learned to give up half-and-half in my coffee in the morning. I eat more protein, vegetables and fruit. I’ve cut out a fair amount of carbohydrates. I walk with the baby every other day and I’m using weights to tone my arms. I’ve dropped 12 pounds so far.
