A founding family of AMP Inc. criticized the electrical connection company’s efforts to thwart a $10-billion hostile takeover bid from AlliedSignal Inc., saying the actions ignore shareholder interests. Representatives of the Hixon family, AMP’s second-biggest shareholder, with 4% of its shares, urged the Harrison, Pa.-based company to drop its strategy, including efforts to get the Pennsylvania Legislature to pass laws that would delay a takeover.
