Granatelli Lubricants to Use Medical Technology

Share

J.T. Granatelli Lubricants in Camarillo has gained exclusive rights for the use of a magnetic resonance analyzer developed by the Irvine-based Integrated Biophysics Corp.

The technology, currently used in the medical industry, was adapted by Integrated Biophysics for Granatelli’s use in the production of its Engine Treatment and related products.

“Reactions between positive and negative charges create an energy emission described as a magnetic resonance signature,” said Ron Weinstock, CEO of Integrated Biophysics. His firm, he said, has discovered “a way to alter this signature and ultimately allow us to transfer the technology for J.T. Granatelli’s use in their production process.”

Weinstock began research to determine what benefits the technology offered the lubricants industry after a 1995 meeting with Granatelli management. As a result, the magnetic resonance analyzer was developed to alter the molecular structure of lubricants. Altering the molecular structure of the Granatelli formula is the key to the proper blending of the ingredients, company officials said.

J.T. Granatelli manufactures motor oil and household and motor vehicle lubricants.
