Latino Group to Host Candidates Forum
Proposals for a bridge connecting 19th Street to Huntington Beach and for redevelopment in the city’s west side will be among the issues debated Oct. 15 during a City Council candidates forum sponsored by the Latino Business Council.
Issues specific to the city’s west side, which includes a significant Latino population, will receive particular attention, including debate over the future of the Costa Mesa Job Center.
Six candidates are seeking two City Council seats in the Nov. 3 election. They are Councilman Gary Monahan, Planning Commissioner Linda Dixon, marketing manager Caroline Butler, political aide Lawrence Jones and businessmen James R. Fisler and Chris Steel.
The forum begins at 7 p.m. in the community center, 1845 Park Ave. Information: (714) 885-9095.
