Child Care Resource and Referral agencies can be the first step in finding the right caregiver for your child. A clearinghouse for licensed child care, these agencies often provide materials, workshops and advice for parents and child care providers alike. They provide information on where to find child care, how much it should cost and what you can expect in a facility.

They even offer subsidy programs for qualifying families. Although Resource and Referral agencies can provide guidelines for interviewing and choosing a child care provider, they do not investigate the providers in their databases. It is up to parents to thoroughly interview and research the provider they choose.
