Ventura resident Madelene S. Ball died at her home Wednesday following a lengthy illness. She was 85.
Ball was born to early Utah pioneers in Payson, Utah, on April 1, 1913. She moved to Ventura County in 1952 from Houston.
Ball was a dental assistant for 10 years. She was a longtime member of the Ventura County Potters Guild and the Ventura County Orchid Society.
Ball is survived by her husband of 62 years, Frank Ball of Ventura; two sons, Stephen Ball of Ojai and Leonard Ball of Slidell, La.; a brother, Howard Stevens of Payson, Utah; a sister, Ethel Swallow of Long Beach; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements were pending but will be handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
