A man who bullied and beat the five women he lived with, forcing some of them to molest their children while he watched, was sentenced to 111 years in prison, the maximum punishment.

Judge Rebecca Pilshaw called David Carroll, 25, a “despicable and depraved human being who doesn’t deserve the gift of the children God gave you.”

She also excoriated two of the women.

“I would take a bullet for my child. I would step in front of a moving train to save my child--not just my child but your child as well,” she said, nearly shouting.

Carroll was convicted Sept. 25 of charges including rape, aggravated sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties against children.

Carroll lived in a three-story house in 1997-98 with five women--his wife and her sister, his mistress and her sister, and a roommate--along with five children under 6, two of whom were his.

He raped one woman and molested three of the children himself. Two other women were alleged to have participated in the molestations.

No charges have been brought against the women. The case remains under investigation.
