ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS
PNB Financial Group: The Newport Beach-based parent company of Pacific National Bank reported that net income increased 67% to a record $2 million, or 70 cents a share, from $1.2 million, or 44 cents a share, a year ago. Total assets rose 20% to $275 million from $229.5 million. The company has signed an agreement to merge with Western Bancorp and expects the transaction to close in the first quarter of 1999.
