From Times Wire Reports

A former school hall monitor was indicted on eight counts of first-degree murder, one for each of the women whose bodies were found inside his garbage-strewn home. Kendall Francois, 27, could face the death penalty if convicted on all of the charges. All the women but one had a history of prostitution and drug abuse. Dist. Atty. William Grady said a woman who escaped from Francois, Christine Sala, told police he tried to strangle her. Family members living with him have not been charged. They apparently did not realize bodies were hidden in the Poughkeepsie, N.Y., house, officials said.
