2nd Child Born to Jailed Ex-Teacher

Former elementary school teacher Mary Kay Letourneau gave birth to a girl, believed to be the second child fathered by a former student she was imprisoned for raping. Letourneau and her daughter, Georgia, were both doing fine, St. Joseph’s Medical Center officials in Tacoma, Wash., said. It was not immediately known when Letourneau, 36, would be returned to the Washington Corrections Center for Women in nearby Purdy. She is serving a seven-year, five-month term for second-degree child rape for having sex with a student. Letourneau has said the baby’s father is a 15-year-old former student and that she had sex with him while she was out of jail in January, after her sentence was suspended on the condition she have no contact with the boy and undergo sex-offender treatment.
