Abby Cohen Named Goldman Sachs Partner

Abby Joseph Cohen, one of Wall Street’s top stock market analysts, has finally breached Goldman Sachs’ inner circle, winning the coveted title of “partner” at the closely held firm. Goldman said it named Cohen, who has a reputation as Wall Street’s smartest forecaster of stock market gains, as a partner along with 56 others. She has been the subject of much ado in the media, dubbed the “prophet of Wall Street” by a major magazine, rated the top portfolio strategist two years in a row by Institutional Investors’ highly regarded survey, and ranked the ninth-most powerful woman in America by Fortune magazine. Cohen becomes one of the few women in the top tier of the New York-based company. Before the meeting that made her a partner, a Goldman insider said, nine, or about 5%, of the 189 partners were women.
