SBA Opens Spanish Web Site for Women

Share

The Small Business Administration has launched a Spanish-language version of an online training site for female entrepreneurs in an effort to help more women build successful businesses.

The SBA’s Online Women’s Business Center, launched in January, is a free, interactive Internet training site that covers business principles and practices, management techniques, networking opportunities, industry news, information on SBA services, market research and technology training. SBA Administrator Aida Alvarez said Spanish was a logical choice for expansion of the service because it is the first language of 18 million people in the United States.

The site was developed by the North Texas Women’s Business Development Center and is sponsored by IBM Corp., J.C. Penney Co., NationsBank Corp., GTE Corp. and Avon Products Inc.
