Young Dancer Takes a Trophy in Scotland

Courtney Sutcliffe of Irvine received the first runner-up trophy in the Scottish Championships at the Cowal Highland Gathering in Dunoon, Scotland. She earned first-, second- and fourth-place medals in the 10-year-old division, made up of 35 Scottish highland dancers from around the world.

Courtney, a fifth-grader at Westwood Basics Plus school, was first runner-up in the U.S. Championships in Detroit, winning three second-place medals for girls 11 and under.
