Sudan Bombing

* Re “Military Kept Out of Talks on Sudan Bombing,” Column Right, Oct. 18: I think that the missile attack against the Shifa factory in the Sudan was both symbolic and successful. I believe it showed that the Clinton administration and the U.S. are willing to fight terrorists on their terms, if you will; that we are willing to get blood on our hands, even if it may be innocent.

For an administration to be viewed in a positive way and to have success, the president must be or have people working around him who are ruthless, tough SOBs. This is a side of Clinton we don’t hear much about, but you can damn well bet it’s there. How else could he win two elections and trump his opposition at nearly every turn?
