From Times Wire Reports

Trans World Airlines Inc. and Boeing Co. have reached settlements with families of 11 victims who died when TWA Flight 800 exploded and crashed shortly after taking off from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport in 1996. Stephen Bell, of the Seattle law firm of Pekins Coie that represents Boeing, said some of the settlements were reached without litigation. Lawyers familiar with the settlements said some were in the six-figure range. All 230 on the Paris-bound Boeing 747 were killed.
