Philip Morris & Cos. said a federal judge in Texas dismissed all 17 claims in a union health-care fund lawsuit against the tobacco industry. The suit brought by three Texas funds was seeking reimbursement for medical costs attributable to alleged smoking-related illnesses of their members. No further details were given.

The National Labor Relations Board has upheld a finding that a 19-month strike against Detroit Newspapers Inc. was caused by unfair labor practices. It ordered the papers to bring former strikers back to work immediately. An appeal is planned.
