Indian Nuts and Bolts

Remember those crunchy mixtures of cereals and nuts called stuff and nonsense or nuts and bolts? Lilo chevdo is the same idea, with a slight change of seasonings and a much more exotic name. A snack from Gujarat, India, it’s composed of fine potato shreds, cashews, fried dal (small lentils), raisins, curry leaves and fried jalapenos. Because Gujaratis like sugary foods, it’s sweet as well as hot. And if you like that combination of sensations, you won’t be able to keep your hands off this mixture.
