‘Siege’ Mentality

It was with great interest and, I must say, outrage that I read Judith I. Brennan’s article concerning the upcoming 20th Century Fox film “The Siege” (“Islamic Council Protests Timing of ‘The Siege,’ ” Aug. 25). Since the U.S. missile attacks against the cowardly and craven thugs who planned the African bombings of our embassies, the American media have fallen over themselves to provide forums for “spokesmen” of Islam to denounce and condemn our actions to protect ourselves from attacks. I would hope that any American government would act exactly the way the fictional one described in the movie’s plot synopsis did.

Instead of kowtowing to Islamic zealots, Hollywood types such as producer Lynda Obst should take the time to read up on and study geopolitics and world history. If they did, they might do a better job of preparing Americans for inevitable acts of murder and mayhem that even now are being plotted, prepared and financed by so-called Islamic leaders.
