Domestic Raids

Share

The public’s support for the bombing raids directed against Osama bin Laden suggests that a similar approach could be used in punishing domestic criminals, with great efficiencies for the criminal justice system.

Instead of trying to apprehend suspects and then granting them expensive and unpredictable jury trials, we could simply obliterate the neighborhoods they live in. True, there’s no guarantee they’ll be home at the time, but the likely deaths of their friends and neighbors will be certain to scare them so badly that they’ll never threaten us again. Just look at how successful this method has been against Moammar Kadafi and Saddam Hussein.
