Fluor Daniel Lands Big Facility Contract

Fluor Corp. said Tuesday that its Fluor Daniel unit received an engineering, procurement and construction contract worth $200 million to expand Solutia Inc.’s acrylonitrile facility in Chocolate Bayou, Texas.
Irvine-based Fluor said the facility will be expanded to increase the supply of acrylonitrile, which is used in Solutia’s acrylic fiber and nylon products. Construction is set to begin in January, with completion anticipated in mid-2000.
