Concordia Falls to La Verne in Soccer

Art Pico and Rudy Contreras scored second-half goals to help La Verne defeat Concordia, 4-1, in the first round of the Concordia soccer tournament Thursday.

In another tournament game, Whittier’s only score came on U.S. International University’s own goal. USIU won 4-1.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Redlands 5, Pacific Christian 1--Redlands scored all five goals in the first half, led by Sarah Sinic with two. Sarah Howerton had 10 saves for Pacific Christian (1-0). Redlands is 1-0.
