* “The Engagement”--Richard Vetere’s comedy about bachelor friends who attempt to sabotage one of their group’s plans for marriage opens tonight at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood.
* “The Inspector General”--Gogol’s satiric classic about mistaken identity in 19th century czarist Russia opens Friday at Actors’ Gang in Santa Monica and runs through Oct. 24.
