A free health fair featuring self-teaching procedures for breast cancer examination will be offered today to South-Central residents by physicians from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
The fair will take place at the 88th Street Temple Church of God in Chirst and is being dedicated to Mabel Shaw, a parishioner who recently died of breast cancer, a Cedars-Sinai spokeswoman said.
Appointments are necessary for the 30-minute breast exam classes. They can be scheduled by calling (213) 752-7282. But blood pressure, blood glucose and body fat analyses will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The fair will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 8825 S. Vermont.
