Netanyahu Warns on a Palestinian State

From Times Wire Reports

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned in the U.N. General Assembly against the unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state, saying it would cause the collapse of the Mideast peace process. He was reacting to repeated statements by Palestinian leaders that they will proclaim an independent state if a final peace agreement with Israel is not concluded by May. Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat is scheduled to address the General Assembly on Monday. In Washington, U.S. officials said President Clinton will hold separate meetings next week with Netanyahu and Arafat.
