Gulf War Vets

On Sept. 16 The Times reported that the Centers for Disease Control has found Air Force Gulf War veterans are more likely to have symptoms of fatigue, memory loss and joint pain than veterans who did not serve in this sector.
A more significant event was missed. Roberta F. White, a well-respected neuropsychologist, in the Aug. 15 American Journal of Epidemiology stated that the health symptoms of Gulf War syndrome could not be “fully explained by post-traumatic stress disorder status (or other psychiatric diagnosis).” A congressional inquiry into the organic neuropsychological testing of Gulf War veterans with memory complaints is needed.
