Biolase Technology Inc.: The San Clemente manufacturer of dental, cosmetic and surgical products said it lost $1.6 million, or 10 cents a share, for the fourth quarter, compared with a net loss of $865,067, or 6 cents a share, for the same period last year. Sales increased 43% to $878,888 from $614,258.

For the year, Biolase lost $10.3 million, or 69 cents a share, which included a $5.1-million charge related to the acquisition of Laser Skin Toner Inc. in July. The company lost $2.8 million, or 21 cents a share, the previous year. Sales declined 17% to $1.5 million from $1.8 million.
