During a three-hour meeting Tuesday, City Council members, planning commissioners and parks and recreation commissioners came up with their wish list for the city’s five-year strategic plan. On the list: the El Toro airport project and revitalization of the commercial area on El Toro Road, and the need for better recreation facilities, infrastructure and traffic flow. Other issues included communication with the public, disaster preparedness, library construction and expansion, and road repairs.

The ideas will be compiled into a report, which the council will review late this month; members will study and rework the strategic plan until a final version is approved with this year’s budget proposal in late June.
