Pacific Investment Hires an Executive V.P.
Pacific Investment Management, an affiliate of Pimco Advisors Holdings LP, said Friday that it hired Mohamed El-Erian from Citigroup Inc.’s Salomon Smith Barney unit in London as executive vice president. Pacific Investment, the biggest U.S. bond manager, said El-Erian, 40, will be a senior emerging markets fund manager, working at its Newport Beach headquarters. El-Erian headed Salomon Smith Barney’s emerging markets economic research team, Pacific Investment said. Before that, he was deputy director at the International Monetary Fund.
