A number of residents say that ducks are dropping in on their backyards, even without the lure of food being set out for them. Some residents suspect that the ducks may have been attracted to the area after one homeowner fed and sheltered large numbers of wild ducks in her swimming pool for several years. That homeowner stopped feeding the birds several months ago, shortly before the matter came before the City Council.

Although one neighbor complained to the council that the ducks--in large numbers--are a public nuisance, a number of residents have said they like seeing the ducks in their backyards.
