Re “Transplant Recipients Celebrate the Gift of Life,” April 15: God bless the donor families and the recipients of organs and tissue! I am a 46-year-old liver transplant recipient. Each and every day for the past seven years, eight months I have celebrated the wonderful gift of life given me by a gracious donor family I will never know.

Since my transplant, I have seen my children become adults, have completed college myself and become an elementary school teacher. I’m very physically active and enjoy a life healthier than I’ve ever known. I support state Sen. Jackie Speier’s (D-Daly City) bill to create a donor registry in our state.
