The City Council this week named Tracy Wills Worley to her second one-year stint as mayor. Worley said she will focus on the city’s Old Town area, which, the council has said, needs freshening. New homes are on the way to Old Town, followed by restaurants, she said, adding that a library would also be a great addition but the city would need to put that to a public vote to gain funding for it.

Worley first served as the city’s mayor for the year ending in April 1997. Councilman Jeff Thomas will fill Worley’s vacated mayor pro tem position.
