Tip Leads Police to Bombs at Stations
From Times Wire Reports
Montreal police disarmed five bombs after receiving an anonymous tip that explosive devices had been placed outside some of the force’s 49 stations. Police reported no injuries as the five bombs were destroyed. About 400 police officers assisted in the sweep of the stations and related facilities. Police said a call to the city’s 911 emergency phone service directed authorities to a telephone booth where a letter was found warning that bombs had been placed near 21 stations.
