NASA Funding

Share

Recently, Congress has told us that it intends to dramatically reduce the already small budget of our space program (“NASA Deserves Better,” editorial, July 29). But is turning off the NASA missions that have already inspired us so much necessarily the best way to save money? Do we need to give up our hopes for the future?

By turning our backs on the final frontier, we are robbing our children of their heritage of widening horizons and exploration. In the past, my parents watched the Apollo moon landings. In the future, will I be able to tell my children about the great exploration that took place when I was young?
