License Plate

Share

The state Senate Transportation Committee has a reject-without-reading policy in place that stops most new special-interest license plate bills from being voted on.

One stalled bill is AB 1515, the “Veterans License Plates for Motorcycles” bill, introduced by Assemblyman Bob Margett (R-Arcadia) with 20 bipartisan coauthors. This is not even a new type of plate, but merely an expansion of an already existing plate that is allowed on cars, trucks and trailers--expanding that list to include motorcycles. Veterans, who have proudly fought for freedom, are denied a veterans license plate on their motorcycles, the very essence of freedom itself, due to this reject-without-reading policy. It is a kick in the teeth for all veterans.

Make a call, send a letter, fax or e-mail or pay a visit to the Senate Transportation Committee and ask that AB 1515 and veterans not be kicked in the teeth (we really hate to mumble). Let a vote be taken.
