vs. Houston, 7:30

* Site--Great Western Forum.

* Radio--KEZY (1190).

* Records--Comets 25-5, Sparks 19-11.

* Record vs. Comets--1-2.

* Update--Kim Perrot, the point guard who led the Comets to the first two WNBA championships, died Thursday after her seven-month battle with lung and brain cancer. Burdened by the reality of Perrot’s worsening condition in the past month, the Comets have still played basketball at the highest level yet seen in the WNBA’s three-season history. They visit the Forum tonight having won four in a row and 11 of their last 12. The Sparks also will feel the pain of losing one of the league’s most popular players. The game will be preceded by a scoreboard video tribute to Perrot, and both teams will wear black armbands, as will all other WNBA teams for the remainder of the season. The Sparks beat Houston, 78-65, July 18 at the Forum. If they win again tonight, they will play their Aug. 24 Western Conference one-game playoff with Sacramento at the Forum. The Sparks have asked that fans attending tonight’s game wear a small white ribbon above their hearts, in Perrot’s memory. The Sparks are 2-0 in their final homestand and end their regular season at Utah on Saturday night. The Comets’ big three--Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes and Tina Thompson--are averaging a combined 53 points. Spark backup center Nina Bjedov, who has sat out the last three games because of lower back pain, isn’t expected to play tonight.

* Tickets--(213) 365-6300.
