Tikki Taters

If you think of fried mashed potato cakes as a boring leftover, switch to aloo tikki. This popular Indian snack is the same thing but with lots of flavor. At Standard Sweets & Snacks in Artesia’s Little India, the golden brown cakes are spiced with red chile and speckled with cumin and coriander seeds. Two chutneys come with each order. One is mint, and the other is a sweet and sour tamarind chutney subtly seasoned with Indian black salt.

The cakes are in the display counter along with other snacks and a large assortment of Indian sweets. Your order will be fried until piping hot and ready to eat at once. You can also store the cakes in your refrigerator and reheat them in the microwave.
