Vantive CEO Joins Board of Odetics
Tom Thomas, chairman and chief executive officer of Vantive Corp., has been named to the board of Odetics Inc., Anaheim-based supplier of communications equipment. He succeeds Leo Wexler, who retired after serving more than 30 years as a director. Wexler has been a private investor since retiring as secretary and treasurer of Silverman & Wexler Inc., a food-processing corporation.
* A. Barry Patmore, venture partner in Brentwood Venture Capital, has been named to the board of Continuus Software Corp. in Irvine. Before joining Brentwood this year, he held several management positions with Andersen Consulting.
* Jeffery L. Hiller has been named senior vice president of design and construction for Irvine-based Prandium Inc., assuming responsibility for the company’s nationwide restaurant remodeling program. Prandium operates Chi-Chi’s, El Torito, Koo Koo Roo, Hamburger Hamlet and Casa Gallardo restaurants. Hiller joined the company in March 1995 as vice president of operations services. He previously was division vice president of operations services for Foodmaker Inc.
* Benjamin A. Ramsey Jr. has been promoted to the new position of executive vice president of Barbeques Galore in Irvine. He most recently served as director of store development. Ramsey previously was merchandising manager and held several other management positions. Before joining the company in 1993, he held a variety of management positions over a 12-year period at 7-Eleven Inc.
* Alex O. Viva has joined Irvine-based CMD Technology Inc. as director of Latin America/Asia territory sales. He most recently served as manager of Asia Pacific and Latin America sales for MTI Technology. Viva also was Latin America manager for Adaptec Inc. and international sales manager for Mylex Corp.
* Chuck Hayes has joined Syzygy Network Solutions as branch manager in Orange. He previously served as assistant manager for Volt Business Systems Data Group in El Monte. Syzygy’s former Orange branch manager, Tony Hammers, has been promoted to design engineering manager.
