FBI, Seeking Suspect, Hears of Ticket Sale
Horizon Air ticket agents were interviewed by the FBI Saturday, following a report that one agent sold a ticket to a man wanted in connection with an alleged plot to smuggle explosives into Washington state from Canada.
Cheryl Temple, a spokeswoman for the Seattle-based commuter airline, said she did not know the substance of the interviews and could not provide any further details.
But a source close to the investigation told Associated Press Saturday that the ticket agent called the Bellingham office of the U.S. Border Patrol on Saturday morning to report having served the man, Abdelmajed Dahoumane, 32, on Dec. 17.
Dahoumane is the suspected accomplice who has been sought by Canadian and U.S. authorities since Dec. 14, when Ahmed Ressam was arrested at Port Angeles, Wash., allegedly trying to smuggle a trunkful of nitroglycerin and other explosives into the United States, said Cpl. Leo Monbourquette of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Montreal.
