Talks on Holocaust Reparations Held

Germany held talks with the U.S. on a reparations plan aimed at settling all outstanding Holocaust and slave labor claims. Bodo Hombach, chief of staff to German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, met with Undersecretary of State Stuart E. Eizenstat in Washington. Germany has paid more than $60 billion in reparations to Nazi victims but has refused to honor wage claims by slave laborers.
