The city’s Housing Authority is planning a review of its Rental Assistance Program, which subsidizes rent for low-income families, senior citizens and disabled people. Under the program, a qualified person pays 30% of his or her adjusted household income for rent. The rented units are inspected on an annual basis to ensure that they are safe, sanitary and not violating city codes. Subsidizing funds from the Department of Urban Housing and Development are available for about 1,629 senior citizens, families and handicapped people. Information: (714) 741-5105.
