The city is planning to build a skateboard park at the Zoeter hockey rink by April. City recreation supervisor Kirk Zuniga said that while plans are still in the preliminary stage, the park will probably be open Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 p.m., and weekends noon to 5 p.m. on a trial basis to see if it is used. There will be an admission charge for the park, which will probably cost about $6,000 to build, Zuniga said. Two local companies, Avalon Homes and Inflight surf shop, are helping provide some construction, design and funding.
