The Promise of Romance in a Bottle of Bubble Bath

Share

The latest in a long line of movie tie-ins is “Message in a Bottle” bubble bath. Created by Philosophy, a bath and beauty products company, at the same time the romantic drama of the same name was being filmed, the mineral-enriched wash is full of sea kelp, blue algae and spirula.

The product was designed to fit into the story line of the movie, which begins with a journalist played by Robin Wright Penn finding a bottle on the beach containing not bubble bath, but a love letter addressed to “Catherine” and signed only “G.” The love letter prompts her to search for the author (Kevin Costner), a widowed shipbuilder.

The product’s bottle is made to look like the one found on the beach. One can hope the bubble bath is more enjoyable than the movie’s tearful ending.
