Top Republicans and Democrats in the House on Thursday proposed legislation to increase tax exemptions for investing in individual retirement accounts. The bill would raise the amount IRA investors can deduct from their income, lifting the current $2,000 IRA ceiling by $500 each year over the next decade. At the end of the 10-year period, the cap would be $7,000 annually.
