ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Procom Technology Inc.: The Irvine company said net income in the fiscal second quarter slumped to $110,000, or 1 cent a share, from $1.6 million, or 14 cents a share, a year ago.

Procom, which makes computer storage devices, attributed the disappointing results to reduced margins on upgrade storage products, as well as higher revenue from divisions that historically have lower margins.

Revenue for the three months ended Jan. 31 increased 12% to $26.4 million from $23.5 million.

The stock dropped 72 cents Thursday to $6.53 a share.
