The city’s Human Services Department is offering free health insurance application assistance to low-income families every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Civic Center, 401 E. Chapman Ave.

The state introduced the low-cost health insurance program, Healthy Families, last year. But because the application process is complicated, many families who qualify do not receive the service, said the department’s Dan Figueroa. Information: (714) 986-2333.
