Welfare Fraud

Re “Welfare Fraud Defendant Has Luxury Cars,” Dec. 31:

Boy, this is old news! Just go shopping at the chain food store in Los Feliz and you’ll see many well-dressed, high-spending customers paying with food stamps and driving away in the very best of automobiles. In fact, my neighbor receives Section 8 housing assistance, dresses like a million dollars, sits on beautiful furniture and, oh yeah, drives a new leather-seated Toyota.

Meanwhile, I continue to cut coupons, attempt to pay off my college loans, have couches covered with blankets and just charged on my credit cards four new tires for my 10-year-old Toyota. I’m living the American Dream.

Is there a fraud hotline I can call, and why don’t welfare reps hang out at supermarkets? Think of the money we’ll save!
