UC Irvine professors are speaking at the national meeting of the American Assn. for the Advancement of Science, underway at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel, 700 W. Convention Way.

From 9 a.m. to noon today, Sudhir Gupta, professor of medicine, pathology, neurology and microbiology and molecular genetics, will join Michael Rose, professor of ecology and evolutionary biology, at a symposium on “Forever Young: Biological Bases of Postponement of Aging and Death.” UCI Chancellor Ralph J. Cicerone and Nobel Prize-winning professor F. Sherwood Rowland will lecture on “Global Change During the 20th Century: A Period of Growing Human Influence.”

The meeting ends Tuesday, though the last day UCI professors are scheduled is Monday. Information: (949) 824-6455.
