The city will spend as much as $26,500 on a Lincoln Avenue advertising campaign to promote businesses there, the City Council decided earlier this week. The campaign will include promotional posters to be posted on Lincoln Avenue from Coyote Bridge to Valley View Street. The city also will air 30-second video spots on local cable providers. Each project will cost $1,500, City Planner Alice Angus said.

A city survey showed that about 40% of the businesses along the street have suffered since construction began, Angus said. The purpose of the campaign is to assure the community that businesses are still open.
