DaimlerChrysler was slapped with a $21-million verdict in a sexual harassment case in a Michigan circuit court. The Wayne County Circuit Court found the auto maker liable for allowing Linda Gilbert, an hourly employee at its Jeep Grand Cherokee assembly plant in Detroit, to suffer a constant barrage of derogatory comments, cartoons and photos over the last seven years. Officials said DaimlerChrysler tried to pursue Gilbert’s complaints but that she would not name who she knew or suspected to be involved. The company plans to appeal.
