The Police Department is reminding residents to safeguard their homes before they go away on vacation. Some guidelines: make the home look “lived in,” including stopping the mail and newspaper; use timers for lights; hide empty trash cans; and lock and secure all windows and doors. The department also offers free vacation house checks. Request forms are available at the Police Department. Information: Community Services Officer Gael Locklin, (714) 229-6692.
